John Young’s memoirs are finally being published. Forever Young: A Life of Adventure in Air and Space will debut on September 30, 2012. Its publisher is the University Press of Florida. James Hansen, the author of Neil Armstrong’s biography First Man, is a co-writer.

I am very excited about this book, which is much-needed and long overdue. Plus, I strongly support the practice of naming astronaut memoirs after Rod Stewart songs. I’m guessing that “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” was already taken.

Perhaps they would consider Hot Legs: An Adventure in Air and Space.

And I’m sure his co-writer, Mr. Hansen, is there solely to prevent it from becoming a 50-word pamphlet called Rascals. Honestly, I’m not sure which would be better.

Rascals will always be the rightful cover in my heart. :D
